Naghman Saleem

Naghman Saleem, born into a family of filmmakers, is the son of legendary Pakistani film writer and director Saleem Murad, who has written over 260 movies for Pakistani cinema. Growing up in a creative household, Naghman was immersed in storytelling and filmmaking from an early age.

He officially entered the TV industry in 2005, starting his career as an Assistant Director for the Punjabi TV serial Kichdre. After the 13th episode, he was promoted to Editor, and by the 20th episode, he had become the Associate Director of the same show—an early sign of his natural leadership and creative talent.

Over the years, Naghman expanded his experience across television and film. His credits include:

Sala Bara Nirala (TV Serial, 2007)

Copy 2 Copy (TV Magazine Program, 2007) — a show analyzing whether Pakistani filmmakers copied from Indian cinema, or vice versa, or if both borrowed from Hollywood.

No Tension, Full Problem (2008) — as Editor and Producer.

Latri (TV Serial, 2008) — where he took on roles as Actor, Editor, and Director.

In 2009, Naghman worked as an Assistant Director on his first feature film, Sta Meena Zama Jawand Dey, followed by Kafra (2011). With Kafra, he became the first Pakistani VFX artist to work on a Punjabi film, pioneering the use of visual effects in regional cinema. He continued his VFX work in 2013 on his father’s Pashto movie, Munafiq.

Naghman’s journey into directing and producing expanded with:

School Gang (TV Series, 2014) — where he served as Cameraman, Editor, and Director.

From 2015 to 2018, he produced and edited over 200 local TV and cable ads, showcasing his versatility in media production.

In 2019, he directed a telefilm titled Agent Janju and produced his first Urdu feature film, Too Much.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Naghman focused on his YouTube channel, Free Films, which now boasts over 140k subscribers, providing free entertainment and building a loyal online audience.

In 2021, he launched his own OTT platform, Online Cinema, for Android devices, giving filmmakers and audiences a dedicated space for digital cinema.
